Middle School Scholar Bowl 2008-2009

Century usually competes against Goreville, Egyptian, Joppa, Meridian, Cairo and others. The questions come from subjects such as math, literature, science, mythology, miscellaneous etc. Each team can only play 5 players at a time but can have many alternates.  At the beginning of every game the captain of each team will introduce the players, alternates, and their sponsor, Mr. Basham. 

A game consists of 24 toss-up questions. You buzz in to answer and only have 3 seconds before the other team gets a chance.  Each toss-up question is worth 10 points. You will only have 10 seconds to answer a toss-up question and 30 seconds for a math question. If your team gets the toss-up question right then you will get a bonus question. A bonus question's answer is in 4 parts worth 5 points each. You get 30 seconds for a bonus question. After 12 toss-up questions there is half-time where you can put in alternates. After all 24 toss-up questions have been read, the game will be over and the team with the most points wins.
